TDM5 - How to Add a Text Block

Introduction

TDM5 allows you to create your own designs using elements. Each element has configurable properties, giving you the flexibility to design content based on your needs.

This article explains how to add a text block. Additional guides for other elements can be found in our knowledge base.

Requirements

To add a text block to your page, you need the following:

  • Access to Designer > Pages with permission to create or edit a page.

How to add a text block

  1. Log in to your TDM5 environment.

  2. Select Designer.

  3. Select the menu option Pages.

  4. Open an existing page by clicking Edit, or create a new page by clicking Add new page.

  5. You will now be taken to the content editor, where you can design your page.

  6. Select the Text block element from the menu on the left side of the screen.

  7. Draw a frame in the template editor by clicking. Adjust the size of the element as needed, then click again to confirm.

  8. Configure the element properties on the right side of the page: To change the name, double-click the element in the Elements section.

  9. In the Element layout section, adjust the position and rotation if needed.

    Resize the element by dragging its borders.

    Rotate the element using the dot at the top.

  10. In the Colors & effects section, set a background color, adjust text color, and configure opacity to make the text transparent if desired.

  11. In the Text section, edit the text directly or link it to a data source. You can also configure:

      • Font – the font used for the text

      • Text size – the size of the text

      • Alignment – the position of the text

      • Style – the style of the text

      • Transform – defines how TDM5 handles text that is too large for the element. AutoSize: TDM5 automatically reduces the font size so all text fits. Ellipse: Text is cut off and ends with .

In the Touch section, configure content to be displayed when someone presses the element (useful for touchscreen devices).

Once completed, you have successfully added a text block. You can continue designing and add additional elements as needed.
