TDM5 - How to Configure a Sony Bravia with TDM5

Introduction

TDM5 supports Android devices such as Sony Bravia, Philips D-Line, and other Android players. The installation method may vary depending on the device. This guide explains how to configure TDM5 on a Sony Bravia display.

Requirements

To install and use the TDM5 application on a Sony Bravia screen, you need:

  • A Sony Bravia display running Android 8 or higher

  • An active player license within your TDM5 account

  • (Optional) Access to the Google Play Store

  • (Optional) A USB stick with the TDM Android Player APK file

How to configure a Sony Bravia with TDM5

  1. On the Bravia remote, press the following buttons consecutively (not simultaneously): i+ > Mute > Vol+ > Home.

    The Bravia will reboot automatically, and a blue bar will appear at the top of the display.

  2. After reboot, go to Settings > System > Power and Energy.

  3. Set Idle TV standby to Off.

  4. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Home Network Setup > IP Control.

  5. Set Authentication to None.

  6. Set Simple IP Control to On.

  7. Open the Google Play Store.

    • Log in with your Google account or create one.

    • Use the search function to search for TDM5.

    • Select the application and install it.

  8. Disable energy optimization for the TDM5 application:

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Energy Optimization.

    • Select TDM Player for Android and set it to Not Optimized.

  9. Manually start the TDM Player for Android.

    • If prompted, enable the Display over other apps permission. This allows the application to start automatically after a reboot.

    • Link the player to your account by scanning the QR code and completing the setup process.

  10. Configure Pro Mode to prevent unwanted changes via the remote or a phone:

  11. Go to Settings > Pro Settings > Developer Options.

  12. Enable Power state control by apps.

  13. Go to Settings > Pro Settings > Apps.

  14. Allow the TDM Player for Android.

  15. (Optional) Enable Bravia Web Control to manage certain settings remotely when connected to the same network.

  16. Start Pro Mode:

    • Go to Settings > Pro Settings > Start Pro Mode.

    • The Bravia will reboot, and the TDM5 application will start automatically.
