Introduction
TDM5 offers the ability to make your presentation interactive by using the touch functionality on elements.
This example will show you how to configure touch on an element.
Requirements
If you want to add a PowerPoint to your page you need to meet the following requirements:
- Have access to: Designer > Pages and be able to create or edit a page.
- Have a touch enabled device.
How to configure touch on an element
- Login to your TDM5 environment.
- Select “Designer”.
- Select the menu option called “Pages”.
- Open an existing page by selecting ‘Edit’ or create a new page using the ‘Add new page’ button Edit existing page:
Add new page:
- You will be navigated to the content editor, from here you can design your page.
- Add an element or edit an existing element in your design.
- In the menu on the right, expand the ‘Touch’ submenu.
- Select the content to play by clicking on the placeholder image. The content you choose here will be played when the image is touched.
Content to play when a touch element is triggered can be either another Page, Media (For example, a video) or a completely new playlist.
Once content has been selected you have the ability to set the duration the content should be displayed once touched. This can be a specific duration or indefinitely.
In case of interactive content, i.e. a page containing a website, the content will not revert back as long as there is activity. For example: If the page duration is set to 10 seconds there needs to be no activity for 10 seconds before the screen reverts back to the original content.
When the page, media or playlist is finished playing the content will revert back to where you came from.
Keep in mind that a TDM Presentation can consist of many different layers. In order for touch to work it is important that there are no other elements on top of the element that you have configured touch for.
You have now successfully configured touch for your design, you can configure this on multiple elements on different pages to create an interactive presentation for your device.
