Introduction
With TDM you can add different external data sources, data sources can be linked to elements within your content design. With this workflow your content will automatically be refreshed based on the latest information from the data source.
Requirements
If you want to link a data source to an element you need to meet the following requirements:
- Have access to content creation in the TDM designer
- Have access to templates/pages
How to display text from a data source:
- Please create or edit a template. This will bring you into the template editor.
- Select the ‘Text’ element to display a text value from a data source.
- Once the element is selected you can create a frame within your template design by clicking and holding the left mouse button. Now you can draw a frame within the template which will be used for the table element.
- In this pop-up you need to fill in a name for your element, once the name has been entered please navigate to the "Data" tab.
- In the “Data” tab you can configure which data source you want to assign and which value you want to show in the template. Select the desired data from the drop-down option right next to "Datasource".
- Now you can use the three dots right next to the “Value” field to display all available values from the data source.
From this drop-down you can select the value you want to display in your template. - Once you have chosen your value select “Save”, the value will now be displayed in your template.
How to display an image from a data source:

- Select the ‘Image’ element to display an image from a data source.
- Once the element is selected you can create a frame within your template design by clicking and holding the left mouse button. Now you can draw a frame within the template which will be used for the table element.

- In the “Data” tab you can configure which data source you want to assign and which value you want to show in the template. Select the Instagram data source we have created from the drop-down option right next to "Datasource".
- Now you can use the three dots right next to the “Value” field to display all available values from the data source.
From this drop-down you can select the value you want to display in your template. - Once you have chosen your value select “Save”, the value will now be displayed in your template. Please note that your last post should contain a video, otherwise the element will remain empty.
