Introduction

With TDM you can add different external data sources. With these data sources TDM has the possibility to display real-time information within your presentation. TDM offers support for the following external data sources:

- Facebook
- Twitter
- Instagram
- Yahoo Weather
- Office365 Calendar
- Google Calendar
- Flickr
- Yammer
- LinkedIn
- Exchange
- Power BI
- NS
- Axis (People Counter camera)
- HIKVision (People Counter camera)

This guide will explain how to create a Facebook data source.
Please note that TDM will do a refresh of the information every five minutes. This means that in case you have posted anything new this could take up to five minutes before it will become visible on your device.

Requirements

If you want to create an Facebook data source you need to meet the following requirements:

• Administrator access to the TDM designer
• Have access to a Facebook account
  
  

How To create a Facebook data source                   

1. Login to the designer with an administrator account: https://designer.tdmsignage.com/
   
   
2. Open the “Config panel”. This can be selected in the menu on the left side of the designer.
   
   
   
3. Open the tab called “External Data” to open the overview of your data sources.
   
   
   
4. Select the “+” button on the right side to create a new data source.
   
   
   
5. Fill in a name for your data source and select “Facebook”. Once the fields have been filled in select “Next”
   
   
   
6. Please select the “Login” button to open the pop-up
   
   
   
7. Please fill in your credentials and follow the steps to select the pages you want to share with TDM Signage. If you haven’t created any pages yet you will be offered the option to do so.
   
   
   
8. Please configure the options specified:
   Receive your email address: If you select “Yes” TDM Signage will be able to read your email address from the page.
   Read content posted on the Page: If you select “Yes” TDM Signage will be able to read content posted on your page.
   Read user content on your Page: If you select “Yes” TDM Signage will be able to read user content posted on your page.
   Receive your photos: If you select “Yes” TDM Signage will be able to read your photos posted on your page.
   Receive your timeline posts: If you select “Yes” TDM Signage will be able to read timeline posts available on your page.
   
   
   
9. Please select “Done” once you configured the options.
   
   
10. You've now linked TDM Signage to Facebook. Please select “OK” to finish the process. Now you can select the page you want to configure for your datasource, once selected you can select save to create the data source.  
    
    
    With the eye icon in front of the data source it is possible to preview the information which has been pulled from your page.
