Introduction

With TDM you can add different external data sources. With these data sources TDM has the possibility to display real-time information within your presentation. TDM offers support for the following external data sources:

- Facebook
- Twitter
- Instagram
- Yahoo Weather
- Office365 Calendar
- Google Calendar
- Flickr
- Yammer
- LinkedIn
- Exchange
- Power BI
- NS
- Axis (People Counter camera)
- HikVision (People Counter camera)

This guide will explain how to create an Instagram data source.
Please note that TDM will do a refresh of the information every five minutes. This means that in case you have posted anything new this could take up to five minutes before it will become visible on your device.

Requirements

If you want to create an Instagram data source you need to meet the following requirements:

• Administrator access to the TDM designer
• Have access to an Instagram account

How To create an Instagram data source                

1. Login to the designer with an administrator account: https://designer.tdmsignage.com/
   
   
2. Open the “Config panel”, this can be selected in the menu on the left side of the designer.
   
   
   
3. Open the tab called “External Data” to open the overview of your data sources.
   
   
   
4. Select the “+” button on the right side to create a new data source.
   
   
   
5. Fill in a name for your data source and select “Instagram”, once the fields have been filled in select “Next”
   
   
   
6. You will be forwarded to the login page of Instagram, please login with the credentials of the account you want to assign for usage with TDM.
   
   
   
7. Once logged in you will see a message which will ask if you agree that you want to link TDM Signage to your Instagram. Please agree with this to continue. In case you already granted these permissions in the past a message will be shown that TDM Signage is already linked to the Instagram account. Select “continue” to continue the process.
   
   
8. The window will close and you will return back to the designer. The page will refresh and the external data source has been created.
   
   
9. Please verify if TDM Signage has the possibility to pull the information from the Instagram account, this can be done as followed:
   
   Open the tab called “External Data” to open the overview of your data sources.
   
   
   
10. Select the preview icon in front of the Instagram data source to preview the available information.
    
    
    
11. This should look like the example below:
    
    
    In case the XML preview contains information, the Instagram data source has successfully been setup.
