This guide will explain how the Zermelo data source can be added, please note that the Zermelo data source is supported from version 4.4 and above. To pull the information from Zermelo we use their API. To setup the Zermelo data source it is required to know the endpoint and create a token inside your Zermelo environment.
Requirements
If you want to add a Zermelo data source you need to meet the following requirements:
- Have administrator access to the TDM designer
- Have admin access to Zermelo to create/retrieve the token
- Requires TDM version 4.4 or above
Pre-requirements for the Zermelo data source
- We need two values to create the Zermelo data source, this is the Zermelo endpoint and a token.
- By default your endpoint is: <subdomain>.zportal/api You can contact Zermelo in case you are not aware of your endpoint.
- We also need to create a token for the connection with the API, this can be generated inside your Zermelo environment. Make sure that you have admin privileges as this is required to create the token.
- Navigate to: Beheer > Admin-paneel > API Tokens
- A token can be created on this page with the button called ‘Toevoegen’.
How to create the Zermelo data source in the designer
- Login to the designer with an administrator account: https://designer.tdmsignage.com
- Select “Config Panel”.
- Select the tab called “External Data”
- Select the “+” button on the right side to create a new data source.
- In the pop-up which will open you can fill in a name for your data source and then select the “Zermelo” data source. Once selected, click “Next”.
- In the next window you need to enter your endpoint URL and the token, once filled in select “Save”.
- On the following page you can select which ‘Branche’ you would like to display in the XML, with this option you have the ability to create a data source for one specific location only. Next to this you have the ability to display ‘All appointments’ or ‘Modified appointments’ only.
Now that you have successfully created a Zermelo data source, it is possible to preview the information of the data source with the “eye” icon in front of the data source.
