Introduction

TDM5 offers the ability to add external data sources. With these data sources TDM5 offers the ability to display real-time information within your presentation. This manual will explain how a SharePoint data source can be setup.

Requirements

If you want to setup a SharePoint data source you need to meet the following requirements:

• Have a TDM5 Enterprise subscription
• Have administrator access to your TDM5 environment
• Have the ability to consent Office365 permissions on behalf of your organization
• Have access to the SharePoint site you want to link to TDM5

How To setup a custom data source

1. Login to your TDM5 environment using an administrator account. 
    
2. Select “Interactions”.
   
    
3. Select the menu option called “Data sources”.
   
    
4. Select ‘SharePoint’ and press the “Create new” button to the right to create a new data source. Fill out a name and press ‘Add’.
   
    
5. A new page will open where the SharePoint data source can be configured. First step is to connect your account, this can be done by selecting ‘Add a new SharePoint connection’.
   
    
6. You will be redirected to the Office365 login page, after logging in with your account some permissions will be requested. It could happen that you are not able to consent the permissions, in this case please contact your IT department. This because elevated permissions are required to proceed.
   
    
7. You will be redirected back to TDM5 after granting consent for the permissions.
    
8. A connection should now be visible with the status ‘Valid’. Select the connection, this will now be highlighted in green. After this the ‘Save’ button should become visible, press this to continue.
   
    
9. We can now continue with the settings of the data source. In this window you have the ability to select the site you would like to use. Execute a manual refresh of the page with F5 in case this window remains empty.
   
    
10. After selecting the site the ‘Save’ button will appear again, press this button to connect with the chosen site.
    
     
11. After this a preview of the linked information will be shown in the right part of the screen:
    
    
    Now you have successfully setup your SharePoint data source. You can continue and link these values to elements within your page design.
